Faculty Bio

AJ Ripley graduated with an MFA in Writing from the University of Victoria and a BA from St. Thomas University. For almost a decade, AJ has worked as a corporate writer and journalist for various organizations and publications. Their work has been featured on multiple CBC Radio One broadcasts and in 2015, AJ co-produced and hosted a feature-length documentary for VICE Canada entitled "On Hold: Investigating Transgender Health Access in Canada."  In addition to their career in new journalism and professional communications, AJ is also an established creative writer. They attended the prestigious Banff Centre Writing Workshop in Fiction in 2014. AJ's online publications include: VICE, The Puritan, The New York Times, After Ellen, and Big Truths magazine.  AJ is currently working on a PhD in media studies and  digital culture at UNB, which is fully funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation.
